How this is computed

Any two signs are separated by a gap of zero to six signs. That gap is an aspect, and the aspect sets the tone. A trine at four signs falls inside a single element. A square at three signs joins two signs that share a tempo but nothing else. An opposition at six signs closes an axis.

None of this is a table of opinions. Element, modality and distance come from the structure of the zodiac itself, so one rule produces every cell of the table below.

Four signs apart. The same element, so the same way of processing the world. The ease is immediate; the risk is that neither of you is ever challenged.

○Allied elements

Two signs apart. Fire feeds air, earth holds water. Different enough to stay interesting, close enough to agree on what matters.

What a sun sign cannot tell you

A sun sign is one placement out of ten. Two people who share it can want opposite things, because the Moon governs what someone needs, Venus how they love, and the rising sign how they arrive. Sun sign compatibility is a sketch, and it deserves to be read as one.
